About Kooter's Geology Tools

Kooter, our little green logo, picked up the name from the Cretaceous age Kootenai sandstone formation of the American West, and is a critter who likes to spend the summer baking in the sun, teaching geology to the next generation of geologists.

Over the years Kooter has seen lots of students stop to check out the outcrops, puzzle out the stratigraphy, make notes, have lunch, and draw maps. Many summers ago, in the Tobacco Root mountains of Montana, we bribed Kooter with some Nutter Butter cookies and a swig of our Gatorade to give us advice about the geology tools and field gear needed by students so that we can supply good products at good prices. You can read Kooter's advice about our products in the Kooter Sez articles.
A few years ago, we greatly downsized our operation, and now specialize only in Brunton pocket transits, and hand lenses. This allows us to keep our prices low, and still maintain the high level of service and customer satisfaction that has kept us in business for over 13 years.
The tools we sell you are the same ones that we actually use in the field, and we trust them.  But if you buy something from Kooter's Tools that doesn't suit your needs, return it to us for exchange or refund.

About our prices: If you find the same item elsewhere at a lower price, please let us know. We may be able to match it.

About shipping: When you order, you don't have to calculate shipping charges, or wonder what the final cost of your order will be. Our price already includes standard ground shipping to you, no matter where you are in the United States.  We only charge extra for expedited shipping such as Priority mail, FedEx, or foreign delivery.
